The most astonishing of secret agents, OSS 117 is gifted. He can learn anything in a few minutes: foreign languages, martial arts, Eastern dance...Armed he is invincible. Bare handed he is indestructible. He is handsome. He has charm and style. OSS 117 almost has it all. But when it comes to reason and judgment, he is not so efficient... Starring Jean Dujardin (Counter Investigation (COLCOA 2007), 99 Francs (COLCOA 2008)) as OSS 117 alias Hubert Bonnisseur de la Bath, this parody of classic James Bond films won the Golden Space Needle Award at the 2006 International Seattle Film festival.

MICHEL HAZANAVICIUS

Michel Hazanavicius started his career on French television channel Canal + in 1988, writing skits for popular Saturday Night Live style TV show “Les Nuls” and TV parodies such as Le Grand Détournement or Derrick contre Superman. After writing and directing various short films, he co-wrote his first feature film in 1996 Delphine 1, Yvan 0 and made his debut as writer/director with Mes Amis in 1999, starring Yvan Attal (Rush Hour 3, Munich, The Interpreter). From 1999 to 2005, he directed more than 40 commercial films and co-wrote the television documentary Rwanda: History of a Genocide (2004). His second feature film, OSS 117: Cairo Nest of Spies won awards and critical acclaim worldwide.

PRESS

“Sparkling production design, a jubilantly retro score and a genuine flair for using the film and TV vocabulary of the '60s to revisit colonial arrogance put pic in the same conceptual ballpark as Austin Powers or "The Naked Gun" series.” (Variety)

“...Director Michel Hazanavicius and screenwriter Jean-François Halin not only spoof the original source material, Bond, Powers and 1960s television series, but also take on former French colonial relations in a hilariously ditsy and politically incorrect way without ever feeling out of synch, which makes OSS 117 one of the most uproaringly hilarious films of the year.” (European-films.net)

“Creative and consistently comical, Jean Dujardin recalls the charm of the bumbling Peter Sellers character Inspector Clouseau in his award winning turn as Hubert Bonisseur de La Bath (aka OSS 117)... OSS 117 is filled with cheery, bright and sophisticated humor and memorable performances in a movie that seems to fly by even faster than its ninety-nine minute running time.” (Film Intuition)
