After his performance in Pierre Jolivet’s In All Innocence (1998), Guillaume Canet quickly established himself as an A-list actor. He starred in The Beach (2000) with Leonardo DiCaprio, Zulawski’s Fidelity (2000) and Love Me if You Dare (2003) with Marion Cotillard.

Anything You Say is Guillaume Canet’s first feature as co-writer/director. Canet also stars in the film as Bastien, a young and naïve production assistant fascinated with the outrageous and cruel personality of famous TV producer Jean-Louis Broustal (François Berléand, A Girl Cut in Two, Comedy of Power, Edy (COLCOA 2006), The Chorus). Amused by the young man’s fascination, Broustal pretends to see potential in him and invites him to spend a weekend at his residence. Over the weekend, as he gets to know the cruel and insane aspect of Broustal’s personality, Bastien also uncovers the real reason of this apparently generous invitation. What should have been a pleasant weekend turns into a nightmare.

Canet’s second feature as writer/director, an adaptation of the Harlan Coben novel Tell No One (COLCOA 2007), won multiple César awards in 2007 including Best Director. The film will soon be released in the U.S. He has since acted in Hunting and Gathering (COLCOA 2007), The Key and Rivals (COLCOA 2008).
