The film follows the tribulations of 14 year-old orphan Yves Tréguier, who is sent from one facility to the next. For a daydreamer and escape artist like Yves, life in juvenile institutions resembles the harsh reality of prison. As he stares at the walls circling the house, Yves dreams of escaping and going to New York City. CHRISTIAN FAURE Christian Faure started his career as assistant director on Jean-Pierre Denis' Hideout (1983) and Robert Altman's Vincent & Theo (1990). A prolific television writer/director, he has worked on close to 20 TV series and fictions for television, including Just a Question of Love (2000), which was watched by 6.3 million viewers when shown in prime time on French public channel France 2. Following the success of his TV series Marie Besnard, l'empoisonneuse which was awarded an International Emmy Award for the performance of his lead actress Muriel Robin, he was approached by EuropaCorp to direct his first feature film, Behind the Walls.
