The death of Gabriel, the transvestite owner of a nightclub called the Blue Parrot, brings together members of a family who would prefer not to have anything to do with each other. The Blue Parrot becomes a pretext for confessions and arguments that reveal, behind the glam and glitter, a group of fragile individuals with myriad hopes, failures, secrets and long lost romances.

Thierry Klifa started his career as a journalist for Studio Magazine. After Emilie est partie, a short film starring Sandrine Kiberlain (Alias Betty) in 2001, he directed his first feature, I've Been Waiting So Long (2004), a poignant love story between Patrick Bruel and Nathalie Baye (Venus Beauty Institute (COLCOA 2000), Day For Night, Detective). The film was a popular success.

“Thesps are clearly having a field day. Special praise goes to Deneuve in a delectable role and to Beart, who purrs standards while poured into seductive gowns.” (Variety)

“An old-fashioned and charming popular French film, led by a glittering all-star cast.” (Les Inrockuptibles)
