Running away from her upscale background, Camille (Audrey Tautou, The Da Vinci Code, Amélie) works as a cleaning lady at night. She befriends her rogue, aristocratic neighbor Philibert and his friend Franck (Guillaume Canet, Tell No One (COLCOA 2007), The Beach), a grumpy cook who takes care of his grandmother Paulette. The four become roommates and slowly learn to live together. This ode to friendship is adapted from Anna Gavalda’s best-seller novel, Hunting and Gathering.

Writer/director Claude Berri has adapted various French novels, turning them into widely popular films: Germinal (1993), Jean de Florette (1986) and Manon of the Spring (1986). He is also one of France’s most famous producers: In addition to his own films, he produced Tess (1979), Valmont (1989), The Bear (1998), more recently, Feelings (COLCOA 2004) and adaptations of the comic book Astérix. His work as a writer/director is very eclectic and ranges from film noir Tchao Pantin (1983) to more personal films about love and relationships like One Stays, the Other Leaves (2005).
