Writer/director Claude Berri has adapted various French novels, turning them into widely popular films: Germinal (1993), Jean de Florette (1986) and Manon of the Spring (1986). He is also one of France’s most famous producers: In addition to his own films, he produced Tess (1979), Valmont (1989), The Bear (1998), more recently, Feelings (COLCOA 2004) and adaptations of the comic book Astérix.
